Highlights at a glance
In January 2023, domestic PVC production reached 1.9139 million tons, reflecting a 5.99% month-on-month increase and a 2.86% year-on-year rise. The calcium carbide method produced 1.4703 million tons, marking a 6.65% MoM increase, while the ethylene method saw a 3.84% MoM rise and a significant 28.81% YoY increase. The operating rate for PVC plants was 81.76%, a slight drop of 0.55% from the previous year.
Analysis on PVC production: In January 2023, the domestic PVC production reached 1.9139 million tons, up 5.99% month-on-month and 2.86% year-on-year. Among them, the production of calcium carbide method was 1.4703 million tons, up 6.65% month-on-month and down 3.03% year-on-year. The production of ethylene method was 0.4436 million tons, up 3.84% month-on-month and 28.81% year-on-year.
Analysis on PVC plant operating rate: The domestic PVC plant operating rate was 81.76% in January 2023, down 0.55% from last year.
