Analysis on China Titanium Dioxide Production Data of January 2023
According to the statistics data from LYDD, the production of titanium dioxide in China in January 2023 was 293,300 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 11.45%, a year-on-year decrease of 14.10%, with a decreased production of 7271 ton.
The production volume in January experienced a significant decline, with most regions showing a decrease in production compared to the previous month. This was mainly due to the market situation and end-of-year annual maintenance, resulting in an overall decline in production.

The top three regions in terms of production volume in January were Sichuan Province, Shandong Province, and Henan Province, accounting for 20%, 18%, and 17% of total production respectively.

The production volume of chloride titanium dioxide in January was 47,500 tons, with a month-on-month increase of 15.62% and a year-on-year increase of 13.06%, increasing by approximately 5,500 tons.
As market orders pick up and enterprises receive more orders, market prices are gradually increasing. Enterprises that were under maintenance have resumed production, although some Sharp Titanium enterprises are still idle. It is expected that production volume will rise in February and market prices will continue to operate at a high level.
